Cooking with Fritz ~ Today: Dragon Treats

Hello dear fans!

In every family there is one member that never seems to get enough to eat, the bottomless pit as we like to say. In mine family we call that person Rhage. Master Rhage has a monstrous appetite, partly due to his inner demon, a dragon. We try at all time to have plenty of food on hand. A hungry dragon is not a happy dragon. Today I will share with our Dragons favorite treat; this of course is only enough for a light snack for our bottomless pit.

Dragon Treats

Ingredients

•3 eggs, lightly beaten
•1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
•1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
•1 cup granulated sugar
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract
•1 teaspoon corn syrup
•1 1/2 cups peanut butter
•2 teaspoons baking soda
•1 cup all-purpose flour
•3 1/2 cups rolled oats
•1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
•1 cup candy-coated milk chocolate pieces

Directions

Preheat oven to 350° degrees
In a very large bowl, cream together the eggs, butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. To the creamed mixture add, vanilla, corn syrup, and peanut butter, blend well. In a medium bowl combine baking soda, flour, and oats. Add dry ingredients to the cream mixture, blending well. Fold in chocolate pieces and candy pieces. Using a medium ice cream scoop, scoop cookie dough on to ungreased baking sheets, bake 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, transfer to wire rack and allow to cool completely. Store cookies in an airtight container, for up to 2 weeks.

*Yields 5 dozen cookies

I hope you all enjoy!

With love,
Fritz
